Darcy graduated from North Dundas District High School in 2001 and discovered her passion for working with animals shortly afterward through a career in professional pet grooming. Over the years, she worked at several grooming facilities, including PetSmart, owned and operated Kemptville Dog Grooming, and later joined Cranberry Hill Animal Hospital as a groomer.
While at the clinic, Darcy also worked part-time as a receptionist and quickly fell in love with the veterinary field. Inspired by the supportive team, wonderful clients, and the opportunity to care for animals, she transitioned into a full-time reception role. She completed a Veterinary Assistant program with honours before earning her Veterinary Technician diploma through Thompson Rivers University. After graduation, she successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) and became a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
Darcy has a special place in her heart for Boxers. She cherished her first Boxer, Kona, who passed away in 2024 at the remarkable age of 13. Today, she shares her life with another Boxer, Kalani.
Outside of the clinic, Darcy enjoys sewing stylish and enriching accessories for dogs and cats through her side business, Pawlished Pet Projects. She also loves participating in dog shows with Kalani and is always happy to combine her creativity with her passion for animal care.
