When do I know it’s time to book an appointment?

If you’ve tried managing your pet’s behaviour independently and are struggling to find helpful strategies, we’re here to support you. Pets can be temperamental, displaying unfavourable behaviour every once in a while. However, if you notice your pet is uncharacteristically aggressive, attacking other animals, unresponsive to your commands, or is a danger to others, it’s time to visit one of our expert veterinarians for support. First, our team will rule out any medical issues that could be the cause of your pet’s behaviour. We’ll work on addressing their issues after that.

Why is my pet acting out?

Since pets cannot tell us when something is affecting them, sometimes they use their behaviour to communicate. Their poor behaviour could be sending us a message about a range of health conditions or stressors, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Unpleasant human interactions
  • Poor diet
  • Injury
  • Teething

How can behavioural counselling address these issues?

Behavioural counselling will provide the approaches you need to support your pet. We’ll create plans that provide you with behavioural modification strategies tailored to your pet’s needs. We’ll follow up on the strategies we implement and modify the plan as needed. It’s important to remember that your pet’s behaviour won’t always be perfect, but it shouldn’t disrupt your regular routine for more days than you can count.
